Depending on the exact card configuration, JCOP4 supports Java Card 3.0.5 Classic Edition, GlobalPlatform, ISO/IEC 7816 T=0 and T=1, and contactless communication for supported configurations.

J3R150 / J3R180 JCOP4 Java Card Compatibility

Older JCOP Java smart cards, including legacy J2A040 Java Card products, may no longer be suitable for new applications or may have different operating-system, memory, initialization, or personalization requirements. The JCOP4 P71 J3R150 and J3R180 models provide a newer JCOP platform and higher available application memory than older 40 KB-class Java Cards.

However, Java Card compatibility can depend on the applet, CAP file, GlobalPlatform configuration, ATR, transport keys, SCP configuration, card interface, and personalization process. Therefore, we strongly recommend purchasing and testing a J3R150 or J3R180 sample card before placing a production or bulk order.
